Mahnomen ("Wild Rice" the Chippewa name), population of about 1200, is located on the White Earth Reservation in the County of Mahnomen, the Northwest Region of Minnesota.
The city serves not only as the seat of Mahnomen County, but also as a trade, health, education, recreation and tourism center for those living within a 40-mile radius.
We want everyone who looks at this site to know that you are welcome in our community as a tourist or maybe even a future resident. The City of Mahnomen celebrated it's 100th year of incorporation in 2005! We look forward to continue to grow in all aspects of a great community to live in, work in and visit.
